YOUR PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
Five weeks. Four curriculum modules. 90 hours of classroom and supervised clinical learning.
Module 1 · 16 hours
Learn the nurse aide’s role, resident rights, communication, infection prevention, and safety.
Module 2 · 10 hours
Explore aging, emotional support, cognitive changes, and care for residents living with dementia.
Module 3 · 56 hours
Practice mobility and transfers, personal care, nutrition and hydration, observation, and reporting changes.
Module 4 · 8 hours
Learn to support meaningful activities, spiritual needs, dignity, and residents and families facing loss.
Classroom instruction and supervised clinical activities support these modules throughout the program. Your cohort schedule provides the day-by-day sequence. Certification testing follows completion of the required training.
THE CAREER
Provide hands-on assistance with daily care as part of a nursing team.
The New Jersey CNA pathway prepares you for nurse aide work in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes and licensed long-term care or subacute units.
Hospitals also employ nursing assistants. Acute-care hospital positions have their own training and hiring requirements; CNA certification does not automatically qualify you for every hospital role.

THE PROGRAM
This program follows the New Jersey Nurse Aide in Long-Term Care Facilities Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) pathway.
Cohort schedules are approximately three weekdays per week, with six instructional hours per day. Admissions will confirm the exact dates and hours for your class before enrollment.
Completion requires all instructional hours, required skills evaluations, documentation, and financial clearance. Ask admissions to confirm your class dates and required documents before you complete enrollment.
Program completion is one step toward certification. Required competency testing and state eligibility requirements must also be met.

BEFORE YOU APPLY
New Jersey’s standard nurse aide certification pathway requires a state-approved 90-hour training course, a practical skills evaluation, a written or oral examination, and a criminal background check. PCI admissions will explain school entry requirements, identification, and clinical health-clearance documentation before enrollment. Certification requirements and school admission requirements are separate.

No. This five-week program includes 50 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of supervised clinical training.
The $1,995 tuition includes the $100 registration fee, training, textbook and workbook, initial instructional supplies, and the initial required certification testing attempt. Budget separately for scrubs, shoes, health clearance, and any repeat or missed testing fees.
Pay $395 at enrollment, $400 seven days before the program begins, then $300 each Friday in weeks 1–4. These payments total $1,995. Your enrollment agreement lists the exact due dates.
All required training hours and skills must be completed. Contact admissions or your instructor promptly to discuss the applicable attendance and makeup requirements.
Completing training is one step. You must also meet the state’s testing and eligibility requirements before working in a role that requires CNA certification.
