Some typical duties of a homemaker-home health aide include helping the patient take a bath, use the toilet or bed pan, and dress. They also may prepare patient meals, do light laundering, straighten the patient's room, run errands and assist with exercise regimens.

How do I become a CHHA in New Jersey?

Individuals must successfully complete and accredited training program and submit an application through the New Jersey Board of Nursing. Once approved and processed, you will receive your certificate by mail.

How long is my CHHA Certification valid for?

Accepted Answer

All NJ CHHA certifications expire every November 30th during odd calendar years, regardless of when your license was issued. To ensure your certificate doesn't expire, you will need to renew your license before that time. You will receive a document in October from the New Jersey Board of Nursing reminding you to renew.   NCJA offers assistance with CHHA renewals. Go to the "Services" tab on our main menu and make an appointment for a CHHA License Renewal to get assistance through the entire process.
