HOME HEALTH AIDE TRAINING
Train to become a New Jersey Certified Homemaker-Home Health Aide (CHHA). Learn to provide personal care and daily support under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The 76-hour, six-week program combines guided online coursework with required in-person clinical instruction. The New Jersey training pathway includes 60 hours of classroom learning and 16 hours of hands-on training.

No prior healthcare credential is required for PCI’s full CHHA program. Training includes skills practice and a final examination. Completing a course does not by itself make you certified; you must complete the Board of Nursing’s certification process.

YOUR PROGRAM AT A GLANCE
Six weeks. Online coursework followed by hands-on clinical training.
Week 1
Meet your program, review expectations, and get ready to use your online learning platform.
Weeks 1–5
Complete 60 hours of self-paced coursework on your computer, tablet, or phone within your course deadlines.
Week 6
Attend two days of clinical skills training, totaling 16 hours of hands-on instruction.
After training
Complete your final examination, then follow the New Jersey certification application steps.
TUITION & PAYMENTS
Includes the $100 registration fee. State certification or reinstatement fees and personal expenses are separate.
Your balance is due by the day before your first clinical day. Review your initial payment and installment dates in your enrollment agreement.

CHHAs work through home health and health care service agencies, and may also work in assisted living and other approved care settings.

Yes. The self-paced online coursework is available on a computer, tablet, or phone. Complete it within your cohort deadlines; self-paced does not mean unlimited time.
The six-week program includes online learning in weeks 1–5 and two in-person clinical training days in week 6. A final examination is also required.
